Mistra Future Fashion nominated for fashion industry’s sustainability award

The magazine Habit Sko&Mode bestows annual awards on the fashion industry’s leading players. For its ‘Sustainability Prize of the Year’, Mistra Future Fashion is a nominee this year.

In 2018, for the 12th consecutive year, the fashion industry magazine Habit Sko&Mode is rewarding the industry’s high fliers. Jointly with some 60 experts, Habit has selected 35 finalists in 11 categories. One of them is Mistra Future Fashion.

‘It’s wonderful to be able to highlight the fashion industry’s professional spheres, from designers to retailers, not least at times when many people are struggling. The Habit Fashion Gala brings together the fixed stars of fashion, but also all the anonymous people behind the scenes who make the complex fashion world go round,’ says Katarina Angelin, Habit’s editor-in-chief.

In most categories, the idea is to reward companies for their design or sales ability. However, one of the awards is a little out of the ordinary: the Sustainability Prize of the Year, which rewards innovative thinking in the category of sustainability instead.

Mistra Future Fashion is one of the nominees. The jury’s citation is:

‘Truly sustainable fashion needs vision and innovations. Assembling innovative projects across the entire fashion chain, and from every sustainability angle, has enabled a unique and internationally acclaimed research organisation to be created. New findings, which can change how we make and wear fashion with immediate effect, have made this aspect imperative for the fashion industry today and tomorrow.’

The other nominees for this year’s Habit Mode Gala Sustainability Prize are:

  • Boob
  • Filippa K
  • Kavat
  • Swedish Stockings

The recipients of the Sustainability Prize and the other ten prizes will be revealed at a gala to be held at the Opera Terrace in central Stockholm on 1 November.
