How can researchers and other stakeholders work together to achieve change in society? This will be discussed in the autumn at an international conference in Gothenburg, where Mistra Urban Futures (MUF) is one of the organisers.
In the autumn, MUF will join in organising the International Transdisciplinarity Conference 2019. One question it will address is how researchers and other stakeholders will be able to work together to transform society.
The International Transdisciplinarity Conference 2019, to take place over four days in September, is aimed at both researchers and practitioners in the public sector, non-profit organisations and business.
The participants will jointly explore how transdisciplinary research and co-creation can play an important role in societal change. Attendees will take part in case studies and discuss their experience from collaboration in various areas.
One of the organisers is MUF, which has worked actively to co-produce research since it started nine years ago. It has involved many different stakeholders in its research on sustainable urban areas. The conference is being organised jointly with the School of Global Studies at the University of Gothenburg and the international Network for Transdisciplinary Research.
One aim of the conference is to establish a national Swedish network for transdisciplinary research that includes different subject areas — a network that can be connected with MUF’s future work.
The conference will be held at the Wallenberg Conference Centre in Gothenburg from 10 to 13 September 2019.
